For the first time, I decided to get up on campus and get a new post up.
But I most definitely could not do it alone.

Being a Student of Kingsborough Community College is usually something most people would not be too proud of.
But in the words of Dikembe Mutumbo in the Geico commercial:
NO NO NO… not today.

Insert my first Kingsborough Feature, Osa I. Nigerian descent and fellow student of Kingsborough. I met dude I believe Spring 2011 and off the back I knew he was a real cool dude.

If you ever had a conversation with Osa, you would know how focused he is on getting his future plans accomplished. Another thing you’d notice, is he is heavy into music. As he should be, especially since one of his passions is singing.

DSC_3527

DSC_3519

But that is not all there is to Osa. He likes to enjoy life as much as the next person and is a certified clown in his own right.

One thing I didn’t know was how heavy he was into style. I remember telling him about how the Late Rugby ( moment of silence… ok…) and him saying he would buy them before they leave.

Indeed he did. I literally found tons of Rugby pieces on his person throughout the entire semester. No real surprise came to me then, when he mentioned his love for Club Monaco.

Don’t believe me, I show you the many faces of Osa:

Osa’s style is always a mixture. One day it’s preppy, another day you’d catch him in Jordans, then the next day is Sweatpants and a denim jacket. Which just goes to show that style is what you make it.
DSC_3649

Like I said before, he went pretty heavy on that Rugby blow out sale, to the point every piece up to the shoes is Rugby.

The Kingsborough campus is truly one of the greatest places to simply walk on. While it was the Spring season, the summer is sure to be an amazing place to be and Indeed I intend to come back out to enjoy the weather and the campus as I am working on a special feature (while I still have the chance) called Campus Style.

DSC_3731

Not to be outdone with the all Rugby Look, I too gathered up all the things I can get before they closed up shop.

Vest, Shirt and Pants: Rugby Coat: Denim & Supply Shoes: Bass X Marc Mcnairy

DSC_3786

I especially like this jacket( not Rugby, but still a Ralph Lauren piece) as it literally came with the quote on the back. It is rather unique as I have been scoping this Parka out for months and have not seen one person on the streets with it. ( Not counting that time I seen it on someone on the train because it was not on the streets… )

DSC_3594

As you can see, the wind that day was no joke, so bundling up was a must. Almost fell over simply taking pictures.
DSC_3705

But alas, all things must come to an end. And as the day broke into evening, Thoughts reigned supreme and soon enough, another post was put into talks.
DSC_3704

DSC_3797

Much more ideas are on the way, so please be on the look out and don’t forget Osa as he is sure to pop up sometime in the future, either on this site or on a iTunes near you.

This was a  day for the ages.

After a wonderful Sunday Easter Service, me and my homies went for a walk and talked about the new things coming this year in 2013

To some of you, there will be familiar faces and new faces, faces that will show up way more as the year goes by.DSC_1697

DSC_1706

It’s times like these where you can just take your time having a chill time, putting the stressful things in life to the side for some conversation and laughter.

DSC_1713

In terms of my features… I have too many. So I suppose we will introduce the new faces that will hopefully make many reappearances in the future.

DSC_1743

This fella right here is Prince Issacs. One of the new fellas to my circle of friends. As the picture shows, Prince is a really laid back guy, but has tons of energy that will surprise you if you don’t expect it. One thing About Mr. Issacs is his passion. Whenever he is in discussion mode, the intensity and drive to get the point across will come out of him, making the conversation that much more powerful.

Accessories, ironically, his glasses case ended up matching the shoes and belt. (He said he did not plan it, but we all know the deal)

DSC_1755

DSC_1750

DSC_1751

Another newcomer to my site is Joseph Arroyo.

Now Joseph doesn’t always wear a suit and tie, but when he does, he cleans up nice.
Believe it or not, Mr.Arroyo actually is an artist, a rapper by the name of A.Live and you can check his music very soon in the next upcoming months.DSC_1686DSC_1797

DSC_1808
There is much more to learn about Mr.Arroyo. But you will simply have to stick around for more information.

DSC_1870Letting some of my fellas get some shine on here, I introduce Jared Gerald (Pictured Center) Eddie Rivers ( Right Side) and the return of Brian Narcisse on the left.DSC_1762I intend to bring these guys back in their own personal features. As each individual has their own personal style that makes them who they are.

DSC_1837DSC_1738DSC_1833

Now this might not be a renaissance as big as Harlem. But I have not introduced Eddie Rivers to his full potential. Nor have I introduced you to another one of my great friends, Jackie Pierre.

DSC_1855

Jackie Pierre is what I call a Hybrid artist. Why? Simple. She possesses more than one talent and can adjust when necessary. I see tons of intellect that makes her wise beyond her years, and I wish nothing but the best for her and her future endeavors.

and future features. ; -)

To hear some of her music. Simply click the link: https://soundcloud.com/parabell-greene

DSC_2051DSC_2052

To shed some light on Eddie Rivers, When it comes to the Artist and their Producer, Eddie Fits the bill. If I was Talib, indubitably, this would be Hi-Tek. Eminem and Dre, Jay-Z and…well you get the picture. He has contributed many instrumentals for my project and is working on a project of his own. His music page can be found on Soundcloud right here:

DSC_1866DSC_1800

After a great day of hanging out and talking, laughing and acting a fool. This post is also a transition. While there was a lack of any updates for the winter season( IT WAS TOO COLD FOR ALL OF THAT >.<) This brings to the forefront the transition into Spring Season.

DSC_1985

Jacket: Burberry
Sweater and bag: Polo Ralph Lauren
Chinos and Oxford Shirt: Uniqlo
Tie ( on neck) Levis
(on waist) Vintage
Shoes: Sebago

one thing I must point out, which I have learned, is to play around with style. For example, if you look close at the ‘belt’ you will find that it is not a belt, but a knit tie.

I’ve also made it my personal goal not to take matching EVERYTHING TOO SERIOUSLY. hence the bag.

DSC_1979DSC_1977

DSC_2001

DSC_2011DSC_1992

But I have much more in the making for Spring season. Another feature, some more new plans and tons of music in store so please stay tuned and remember to just have fun.DSC_2053

P.S: Special thanks to my Photographer Marc Richards (Snapshot)

Sit on angel wings and breathe
Left the world, bye let me be leave (believe)
I remember days when I used to want death
Now I thank the lord when I take my steps
It was never about being on top of my game like a logo
You can tell that life wasnt easy(Eze) ask Ugo
Nowadays i feel like a boss no Hugo
Now everybody wants to break my bread like eggos
This my life. Poetry, God and well dressed
And possibly a lady I attempt to impress
Like can you smile, I’m a coward
I feel like God laughs at every single chance that I get to free throw like Howard
Don’t think about why, look towards how
Just take one look at then, and walk into the now…

It has been… A very eventful year, I must say.

To the point where I have not updated here in… months. Literally.

Never my intention to do such a thing, but honestly, there is plenty of other parts of my life that has come into the forefront, resulting in the delaying of some of the postings I Love.

But, I have returned!DSC_1435

And I intend to make more effort soon enough.

It is not easy to dress nice when the weather is still cold as ice. But sometimes, the coat has to come off, and it is pretty nice to put on a nice indoor outfit when you get a chance.

I get, a lot of compliments about the blazer. And even some threats (lol) but I can never tell people where I have gotten the blazer, as it was originally purchased by my late mother. This, and a few items in my wardrobe, ate timeless pieces that I will cherish dearly and put on when the timing is right.

DSC_1390DSC_1396

Houses in Park Slope Brooklyn, are amazing. This house was simply one of hundreds.

I have a thing for saddle shoes, and plan on collecting many pairs. This one was actually not on my list, but once I opened the box and laid eyes on them, I knew everything happened for a reason.

DSC_1415

DSC_1407

DSC_1435 To be honest… I Like these cargos a bit too much. It does not matter to me that everybody has a pair of cargos. It is all about how you put it together. I had these tailored.

And now I absolutely adore these even more!!!!
DSC_1443But there is much more I am working on this year, Future performances, music videos, feature postings, maybe a special guest appearance from someone special. Who knows.

More things about Kyle will always pop up.

Just remember….

God Bless

P.S: This look is also one I entered onto a contest for The Style Blogger. If you do not know what I am referring to, Check out:

If you have never been to Lehman College in the Bronx, I urge you to take that time out to get on that campus.

My reason for being at this beautiful Campus? Church.

All-Campus Sunday to be exact. A service led by nothing but college students, something that does not happen often, but is always a pleasure to be apart of when it does occur.  While arriving early, I decided to get some pictures around one section of the campus, as walking around could result in me actually getting back to the location of the service later than expected.

Fall(Or called Autumn by others), is by FAR, my most favorite season and I do my utmost to treat every single day of Fall with respect. It is weather that is not too cold, and not too hot. Does not require anything but an extra layer or two, and the leaves are simply amazing.

Every one should get a cocky picture once in a while.
But humble yourself too.

This is actually my first time putting on some of these clothes, in particular the penny loafers I have acquired from Bass.

Some people decide to put in a penny in the middle, I am no exception to the rule. I will definitely enjoy breaking these in, because some shoes look better with a worn out look in my personal opinion.

Subtle, but definitely there, are the braces used to hold the pants up. These were my behind the scenes guys as while I did not showcase them, you can see the work that they have put in to make the outfit a success without needing to know all the details.

Ok, yeah I know the Bowtie is a little messy. Just let it be lol

Coat and Socks: Uniqlo
Sports Coat & Braces: Thrifted
Sweater: Rugby
Shirt: Ralph Lauren

Again, do take the time out to check out Lehman COllege (4 or D train to Bedford Blvd. Station)

God Bless and Best Wishes,

Kyle Norville

Fall has…somewhat arrived in Brooklyn,

And when it feels like it did a couple weeks back, it was the only opportunity I knew I had to get out there and wear the tweed I desired.

Now this coat has been seen in another post, but until I acquire another one, this will be seen again soon enough. I have no shame in reusing a coat, because clothing is meant to be worn.

If you also notice, the pants have also been used before, but because I love the color so much, it did not do me any shame to again pull it out for another outfit.

My friend Brian Narcisse ( who will most likely be another returning feature in the future) was down to cool out for a bit and also felt that tweed was the way to go for the day.

Brian, who is also a resident of Brooklyn, is a very smooth individual, but he’s amazingly relatable and easy to talk to, which throws away any stereotype you might have of what a ‘smooth individual’ would mean. A student of Brooklyn College, he is immensely focused on getting school work done on time and puts into work the time it takes to achieve high grades, which shows the diligence he is willing to put towards his education, something not seen often in college students. (or at least the ones I’ve come across)

He, like myself, had a transitional period but I believe he has found his ‘niche’ in terms of style.

As the weather gets cold or hot, or just plain undeniably frustrating, do remember that tweed could be that one fabric to get you through the day, weather it’s a hat, or a waistcoat, or any other item in the same fabric, the warmth tweed provides during semi-cold days is indubitably needed in my life.

Don’t forget to simply enjoy the moments you have in life, you never know when the opportunity will arise again.

Best Wishes,

Kyle

SummerFall (Prod. By Eddie Rivers)

Dear summer I been waiting to ball
You hot, honestly though I been watching you fall

Throw ice on my Uniqlo shirt, iced T
Friends left, we gon do the right thing Spike Lee
Take a walk in the park we out if its dark
Cooling out sitting down watch the view outside
Life fast and furious, copped clothes, Paul Walker
I stayed away from the clubs, no Tony Parker
Cooling out had to bring ‘Lin’ in(Linen) like Houston
Ppl killed your whole style flawless execution
Its time you go to school ill see you in June…

I have been busy.

A whole lot of busy.

SO busy that I have been unable to update

But I have just got a flurry of pictures done and updates should be coming fairly along

But I have gotten a music page!

https://www.facebook.com/LeonAesthetic

And if you see the track up top( Highlighted in pink), that is indeed one of the many tracks I have recorded these past couple of months, it is entitled: “SummerFall” in respect of the two seasonal changes that occur within the month of August into September.

But with this shoot, The founder of Magic All Moments(http://magicallmoments.com), Peter Martinez, had a vision and an idea and plan and after meeting up in Brooklyn, we headed to a place I cannot tell you out of respect ( You will be ok if you don’t know anyway : D)

The beach had a very nice view and I actually saw my school from where I was at ( That being Kingsborough Community College)

Shirt- Gant
Pants & T-Shirt- Gap
Shoes- Converse

There were tons and TONS of photo opportunities and pictures, but I narrowed it down to this amount, which goes to show the process of a Photographer is immensely serious, looking at pictures for hours and determining the quality and what can be fixed or what pictures do not even need to be edited. It is a task that requires a lot of dedication.

As you can see, I had a lot of fun doing it and hopefully there will be more opportunities to do such a thing.

So no matter what the weather is like, as long as you make the most of it, things will turn out fine.

Best Wishes,

Kyle

I have been a rather busy human being to be honest.

SPeaking of Human Being.

I am currently in the midst of working on a project entitled: ‘Only Human’

It is my first solo project of music that will include poetry, rapping and singing and the focus is on us being humans with emotions and situations that make us who we are.

So… Fall is swiftly approaching.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be updating faster now that my favorite season is approaching.

SO stay tunes, stay alive and… Stay human

Leon Aesthetics.

I feel, flyer than satellite lights

As I roll through the fresh new york city lights

Feeling, good… Word to Nina Simone

And if you don’t feel the same know that I’m in the zone

Nice weather on the skin whether its cold or hot

Imma get the grooving you can like it or not

Blake Griffin when I rise I Wade through all heat

I can feel the flame licking on my heaven bound feet…

- Aesthetic ” Beautiful Day”

To be young and free.

That is what I am right now.

So on another hot summer day, me and my friend Jessica made our way to Manhattan to take care of some business.

Jessica is an individual I wish I had the opportunity of meeting earlier in my lifetime. An overall joy to be around and immensely funny, but when it comes down to it, immensely deep at the same time.

Even waiting for the train can be fun if you let yourself be free!

The thing is, Jessica encourages me to be open to new things and new ideas. It’s so easy to be reserved and to yourself in New York City. But sometimes… It’s a great feeling to just… get wild

It was rather good weather for a sun dress like she had on. And it also felt like the perfect day to get wild in terms of chinos.

I got this pair from Dockers. My first attempt at showing brighter shades in my summer wardrobe. I would doc it as a success in my personal opinion. But that’s simply my thoughts.

As the weather gets hotter. I want to let you know that putting on bright shades in the summer time shouldn’t be something you hesitate in doing. Embrace it. Get wild, break that color barrier and have fun doing it.

Until next time,

Kyle

Icy trees swaying behind a sightless wave of water

The sun beams lighting a pathway for many birds wordy

Sashaying of leaves making conversation with one another

The sky seems to be held up like a child by the cerulean backdrop on a fall afternoon

Words being whispered, wrapping around the countless thoughts of humanity being displayed out loud in quickened whispers

‘How have you been?’

‘Where are you going?’

‘She was bad…’

The essence of simply being in the midst of verbal movement creates an odd sense of peace

It’s a science to understand the function of mere English phrases.

Cracked floors leading an erratic pathway to emptiness

This is just an hour within a day in Manhattan…

- ‘The Park Bench’ by Kyle Leon Norville

Summer has arrived!

Or at least that is what I think has happened.

With that thought in mind, me and my good friend Dilyon hit the road and ended up in Manhattan at The High Line Park, which everyone should go to, and, as Dilyon is a fellow artist, we got to talking about music and recording.

On Dilyon:
Bowtie and Shirt: Zara
Pants and shoes: H & M
on Me:
Shirt: BDG
Pants: Rugby Ralph Lauren
Shoes: Clarks Desert Boots

It’s no coincidence that our sleeves are rolled up. It was hot and windy and letting that breeze hit you as much as possible is a great feeling.  I sometimes like to think of sleeves rolled up signifying two things:

1. You’re getting serious.

or

2. You’re in chill mode.

I’m thinking you can guess which of the two options we were in.

With Dilyon being a Harlem resident, it is refreshing to see the style contrast from someone who actually lives there. My personal vision I must admit is skewered from having seen many of the same outfit styles in Brooklyn. My idea of how African-Americans dress stretched across the bridge to the point where I cannot tell where someone is based off of their style ( Sometimes it is apparent though.) But alas, it is not the borough that defines what specific outfit you must put on, but the individual that makes their own identity.

Now to talk about first times. This is my first feature with another person on my blog. This won’t be the last.

This was actually my first time putting on these boots and first time actually daring to not fully match my outfit. I call it a success but that’s my personal opinion.

Don’t be too afraid to go out on a whim and have a bold piece with lighter blends to draw less attention to it. The shoes were meant to steal the show for the outfit. I think I succeeded. Oh, and ACCESSORIZE.

If you’ve notice the hairstyle too, it is indeed also brand new, and believe it or not, my head was throbbing from the retwist but some say beauty is painful, this was no difference.  A good thing about blogs is you can see the changes from before to the recent developments that the person has partaken in. ( If updated often enough)

In conclusion, I hope you all enjoy the coming hot weather and remember to smile despite the heat ( I am a Fall season lover to be honest… but I am prepared for the summer)

I just wanted to let you guys know that this blog of mines was more than fashion. It’s entitled THINGS about Kyle. So now I show you another THING I do.

Rap.

Now, being a Brooklyn resident. You have to have SOMETHING. In order to to survive. Running really fast, dancing really good, etc.

This is not my thing. It’s poetry.

With an instrumental, as my friends say : )

This was recorded at my friend Brian’s father’s house out in Rockland County, NY and we were simply fooling around, putting on instrumentals and rapping to them.

Freestyling is an art that many rappers wish they had, work to have and work to perfect. I am in no way, shape or form the best freestyler there is.( As you can tell in a few seconds of the video, I did get a bit messed up in formulating the next line) but sometimes you get in that zone where words simply come to you)

No more talking. Enjoy the video.

Instrumental: Busta Rhymes – I’ll Hurt You
